Dee's Newest Release Dee Freeman: Writer, Author, Poet
Dee Freeman, a hardworking, dynamic and dedicated writer, is excited to be who she is... happy, proud, productive and totally blessed beyond measure. She is thrilled to be where she is in life author, poet, producer, TV host, literary advocate, public speaker, community activist, Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She is brainy, clever, synergized and on the go; doing the things God has placed on her heart to do.
Dee's writing draws from her love and passion for life and she prides herself as being a speaker of truth and a doer of good deeds. A retiree of the struggling auto industry, Dee has found comfort and happiness in her revamped and liberating writing career. Knowing she has an obligation to reach out, give back and share the wisdom, vision and perception of life she has been graciously given; she flourishes on her community involvement. She is active with Riverwalk Theatre, Black Men, Inc., Miss Capital City Scholarship Pageant and her TV show Poetree-N-Motion, which airs on both Tuesday (Comcast 16, 6:30pm) and Thursday (GNS/TBN 19, 7pm). She works with BCFI and CTDG, while also supporting and participating in activities of many other community outreach organizations and centers. She willingly shares her poetry at a number of Lansing school functions; writes tributes for community leaders and speaks and reads at other venues throughout Michigan and across the country.
She is empathetic toward and understanding of the needs of many communities, where she has solicited other leaders to join forces, on her show, to dialogue about these needs in hopes of bringing about some win-win remedies. These panels are a mixture of educators, diverse business owners and leaders, political leaders, entrepreneurs, professors, attorneys and community and religious leaders who share wisdom and knowledge on how we progress and go forward(more details are forthcoming).
Dee Freeman is touted as a top notch poet and a nomination for local 'Poet Laureate' is an honor which she hopes will come to fruition on an even higher level as her name recognition increases. Her passionate poetry and prose bare her heart, mind and soul to readers in a plethora of wordz.
